Job banks on the Internet
Job banks on the Internet, however, are simply lists of jobs, jobs, jobs. They can allow you to find work without even leaving home (or the local library). In about the same amount of time it takes to open the newspaper to its classifieds section, you can search the job descriptions, locations, qualifications required and salaries for virtually thousands of openings across Canada. Here are some sites to start you off as you surf for work.
Human Resources Development Canada (HRDC) Job Bank jb-ge.hrdc-drhc.gc.ca/
The HRDC Job Bank bills itself as "an electronic listing of jobs, work or business opportunities provided by employers from everywhere across Canada." Both English and French versions are available. Search options include jobs posted within the last 48 hours, job titles, region and key word. The job ads themselves are also posted at local Human Resource Centres.
Employers: This a free job posting site. It can be done through an online form, using your Revenue Canada Business ID Number. A form can also be printed, filled out and faxed.
Dozens of job openings in the non-profit sector are listed for everything from part-time administrative assistants to full-time national directors. Many are disability-related organizations. A "Latest Additions" link allows you to view only the most recent jobs listed. Some listings link back to the employer’s home page to provide you with more insight into the organization.
Charity Careers

"Over 1,200 employers advertise all types of employment opportunities at particular universities and colleges each month. Search through these full-time, part-time, summer and/or internship opportunities." A password is required to access one part of this site, available only to post-secondary students of a participating university or college (ask your career centre).
