POSITION SUMMARY:

The Transportation Analyst main responsibilities include improving distribution processes and reducing operations costs.  The successful candidate will track KPIs and undertake planning functions for both Line-haul & Delivery areas.  The Transportation Analyst will set targets for fuel, equipment rental, wages and freight costs and continuously monitor organizational performance against these targets.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Create targets for fuel, equipment rental, wages and freight costs
Develop and implement scheduling tools for tracking and reporting on labour, efficiency and utilization
Analyze daily re-routing needs and assign drivers and trucks to routes based on equipment availability and efficiency
Optimize route design to minimize distance travelled and equipment downtime
Accommodate special requests of rush deliveries
Track all costs & pay all invoices related to transportation
Prepare period end reports
Respond to driver issues and concerns as required
Comply with Health & Safety standards

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
In addition to initiative, integrity, strong work ethic and being a team player:

University degree or College Diploma
Minimum of 1-3 years of transportation industry experience 
Strong analytical, planning and logic skills
Knowledge of process improvement and performance metrics
Intermediate MS Excel and Access skills
Superior interpersonal and communication skills
