FUNCTION Reporting to the Executive Director, this position is accountable for the day to day strategic and operational management of all MCF properties.
The position supervises the Maintenance, Resident Services and Site Operations areas of the business in addition to overseeing standing operational committees.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Ensure operational processes enable MCF to meet growth and business plan objectives within MCF’s corporate culture.
2. Operational Planning and Management
1.1. Oversee the efficient and effective day-to-day operation of the housing programs and services including uniform operating methods.
1.2. Review and evaluate existing operating policies, procedures, systems, services and work methods and make appropriate improvement/change.
1.3. Ensure that housing programs and services offered by the organization contribute to the organization's mission
1.3.1. Oversee the administration and supervision of operational activities including maintenance, resident services and operational departments.
1.3.2. Develop and implement program strategies relating to systems, development, building lifecycles, equipment and facilities.
1.3.3. Review and make recommendations concerning the modernization of equipment and facilities, new construction, and the need for new equipment and/or services;
1.4. Prepare annual operating and capital budgets, participate in strategic planning
1.5. Oversee the planning, implementation, execution and evaluation of special projects
1.6. Ensure that the operations of the organization meet the needs of the residents.
2. Act as an administrative resource to the Board Planning Committee. Prepare reports and assist in organizational planning activities.
3. Participate and liaise with government agencies, professional associations and community activities where relevant to MCF
4. Actively participate in Foundation committees/projects and other relevant departmental duties as required
5. Regulatory
5.1. Ensure application and implementation of established policies and procedures in accordance with the Alberta Housing Act and its regulations, Accommodation Standards, Health and Safety and other required standards, legislation and or regulations.
5.2. Review legislation, regulations, government changes which may affect overall MCF operations and implement changes or recommendations as required.
5.3. Ensure adherence to the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy legislation
6. Participate in the Foundation’s Health & Safety Program.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. At least ten years experience in a managerial role the not for profit, hospitality, housing or property management industry. 2
. University degree in Business Administration or social sciences (a combination of education and industry experience may also be considered).
3. Experience in non-profit administration, or similar experience in for-profit setting such as property management, or hospital operations would be definite assets.
4. Previous budgetary experience and administration, a strong financial background is required.
5. Construction/renovation and maintenance knowledge a definite requirement.
6. Exceptional ability to coordinate projects while building solid relationships with others.
7. A positive, accountable, open minded approach and ability to thrive in a team environment is necessary.
8. Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills are required.
9. Proven abilities to plan, implement change and lead a team of professionals and service support staff through change.
10. Intermediate to advanced computer skills essential.
11. Personal skills required include tact, initiative, integrity, resourcefulness, sound and mature professional judgment;
12. Ability to meet the physical demands of the position.
13. Valid Drivers License
WORKING CONDITIONS
1. Must be flexible and have the ability to respond to a variety of changing duties and work routines.
2. On occasion may work under somewhat stressful situations.

Generally, Monday to Friday, 8.00 am to 4.30 pm (Full Time) Flexibility of hours is available and at times may be necessary (occasional evenings, weekends) |
