Carvechi a web 2.0 and Social Networking Professional Search Service is seeking a project accountant.
PROJECT ACCOUNTANT
Job Description Centralized, administrative support (maintenance, project analysis, reporting, reconciliation / verification ) for Oracle Project Costing module. Position will serve as coordinator and liaison with financial representatives from operational areas (Business Operation, Industrial Operations, Research and Development, Supply Chain, Information Services/Technology, and other support functions)
Position will ensure timely delivery, quality work, focused direction, and alignment of efforts with strategic objectives set by department manager.
Major Responsibilities:
• Project Setup
1. Create new expense projects in accordance with internal policies & procedures.
2. Create & maintain project budgets.
3. Collaborate with other business functions to perform required maintenance of setups in Project Costing.
4. Review and/or enter Miscellaneous & Labor batches
5. Create, review and/or posting of journal entries
6. Balance Sheet reconciliation
7. P&L reporting & explanation
8. Provide needed support to other functions utilizing Oracle Projects:
9. Familarity with SEC fillings 10Q
Industrial Operations, Research & Development, Product Development, Information Systems, etc...
1. Development, implementation & maintenance of local governance for Oracle Projects including accounting and financial guidelines, process controls and procedures.
2. Maintain comprehensive understanding of Oracle Projects auto-accounting & account generator used to record non-capital project cost.
3. Liaison with enterprise finance and project managers to provide support for Oracle Projects across all Merial business functions.
4. Ensure proper accounting systems and processes are maintained in accordance with GAAP.
5. Compile data and reconcile project expenditures. Review and evaluate processes / systems ensure consistency and accuracy of project information.
6. Reporting definition / development to support project managers and functions
7. Provide needed schedules and commentary (point of contact )to external auditors
8. Provide needed schedules to the tax department.
Qualifications
• 6 plus years of increasingly project Accounting experience – us
• 4 year degree in Finance / Accounting
• Knowledge of Accounts to Reporting and Procure to Pay processes related to Project Accounting is preferab
