Job Title: Communications Coordinator
Description
Creating a world where no Canadian fears cancer. That’s our vision and together, we can make it happen. Join our team of dedicated volunteers and staff to help us reach our goals.

Communications Coordinator
Join our Smokers’ Helpline Community Engagement team in this full-time, contract position, to March 31, 2009. Based in Hamilton and reporting to the Senior Manager, Community Integration and Promotion, you will support the overall goals and communication activities of the Smokers’ Helpline. A highly motivated, results-oriented individual with superior writing, editing and proofreading skills and knowledge of tobacco control issues and strategies, you have what it takes to be involved in internal and external communications, media relations, marketing and promotional plans, publication coordination, annual communications plans and special projects. Your background will include a post-secondary education and/or 1 to 2 years of related experience in public relations or communications. As a result, you bring excellent presentation and customer-service abilities, and word-processing, database and spreadsheet computer skills. Along with access to a reliable vehicle, you have the flexibility to work some evenings and weekends, and travel within Ontario. French/English bilingualism would be an asset.

In return for your contributions, we offer a very attractive compensation package, which encompasses a salary in the 40K range and some benefits, and an opportunity to work in a supportive, caring environment. Qualified non-smokers are invited to send their resumes, by June 25, 2008, to:
